Love, Dating, Mating and Marriage!

Pastor Corner:

Love, Dating, Mating and Marriage!

Welcome to the month of February 2024! Seems like yesterday when we all rejoiced as we celebrated the beginning of a new year! Now it’s the second month already and we must ensure that we maximise every moment we have as we harvest souls for the kingdom of God.

I am not the one to emphasize subjects based on what’s prevalent or popular in a particular month. I, however, felt a release in my spirit man to have conversations about Love, Dating, Mating, and Marriage matters. The reality is that there is so much wisdom in the word of God to offer us support towards succeeding in our relationships.

Like ships serve the purpose of taking us from one point to another, so also are the relationships of our lives. Someone once said that the difference in phases or levels of life is premised on the relationship God brings or takes from our lives. Relationships are like elevators, they either take us up or down.

As mentioned earlier, the word of God that is the bible has so much to offer us to have the best in all our relationships whether Marital, Business, Career, Friendship, or any other type.

See a few nuggets of wisdom that I have found in John chapter 2:1-10 where Jesus performed his first miracle during his time here on earth;

  • Always invite Jesus to every one of your endeavors. It’s important not to go alone in our relationships but to depend on the availability of the wisdom that divinity has to offer us in desperate times of need.
  • Secondly, as humans, we must realize that we will run out of wine. Signifying the limitations of our human ability in terms of succeeding in our relationships or marriage. Whenever you run out of strength, don’t feel abnormal but let the presence of Jesus reassure you that all will be well.
  • Thirdly, be prompt to obey what he has instructed in his word. Imagine that the party organizers felt he wasn’t making sense since there was no precedence like that. Obeying the word will not always make sense to our natural minds but it’s the key to the life of unending happiness that we all desire.
  • Fourthly, what Jesus has to offer will always be superior to what psychology or secular humanism will provide for us. The key to a marriage that lasts and is enduring is in the word of God.
  • Finally, we should know that Jesus is interested in ensuring that we have perpetual wine in our union which signifies sweetness, colorfulness, tastefulness, pricelessness, and many other things that come with wine.

From the above, it is obvious there is so much wisdom to draw from God’s word to help make us succeed in all our relationships. God will divinely connect you to relationships that will lift you this month in Jesus name!

I call you blessed.

HEARING GOD’S VOICE

Hello children of God, now that the holidays are over, I hope you are excited to go back to school. You are welcome to another exciting episode of learning with FLOAT newsletter.

My name is Amaka, and today I have Nifemi with me here. I believe you’re as excited as we are to learn

Amaka: Nifemi, let me ask you a question. Can you recognise your mummy and daddy’s voices?

Nifemi: Yes I can recognise my mummy and daddy’s voices very well

Amaka: That’s awesome but you know for you to recognise their voices, that shows you’ve been listening to them for a long time

Nifemi: Oh yes, I hear their voices everyday.

Amaka: Good, that’s what makes it easier for you to know their voices and now let’s discuss hearing the voice of God and a boy in the Bible that heard the voice of Go. Let’s open our bible to John 10:27 (NIV) “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

Samuel was just a small boy when God called him, how will you feel if God calls

Nifemi: I’ll be very excited

Amaka: Nice, God can call anyone just listen carefully to Him and you can hear God’s voice through the Holy Spirit and you have to study your bible everyday

Nifemi: and pray everyday!!!

A POOL OF TALENT- The need to act now!

I was 11 when I told my friend that it would be a great idea to make shoes using Jeans material; denim. She laughed at me and said “where did you get this silly thought”. As at then, neither I nor my friend had ever seen shoes made out of Jeans material. Jeans were clothes and that was it. Couple of years later, Jeans shoe became fashionable and all I could think was “how did someone else know my thought”

Recently, something similar happened. This was a business plan I had been nurturing for months, giving excuses as to why now isn’t the best time to implement it. This plan was implemented by someone else, of course, I didn’t share it with her. I don’t even know her.

Then I realised that every idea is God-given. If you don’t execute it, someone else will. Look at Elijah, he thought himself the only one that had not bowed to Baal but God told him he had in reserve 7000 people that didn’t bow to Baal (I kings 19: 1-18).

There’s a large pool of talent, God gave you this idea not so that you can take forever to do it. It’s for you to get to work immediately.

Biblical Poetry:

Ready for Love?

Opening my heart to Gods spiritual family,

Means fighting the temptation to be a quiet observer.

It means stepping away from the side-line and into the ring.

It means accepting that there is a family ready to embrace me.

It means putting aside the protective shield

used to create a barrier from the unfamiliar.

It means being ready to love.

But what is love? (Ephesians 3:17-20 / 4:31-32 NKJV)

Love is allowing God to dwell in your heart through faith.

It is allowing the roots of God’s love to keep you grounded.

It is understanding the depth of God’s love for you,

The type of love that puts in the effort to number your hair follicles.

It is knowing that the overflow of love ascending from within

pours out to those around you.

It is praying for those that wrong you.

It is forgiving before receiving the apology.

It is acknowledging that those closest to you

have the potential to hurt you the most,

but still choosing to be vulnerable.

It is the ability to forgive even when you can’t forget,

Knowing that forgiving prevents your vision from becoming blurred.

Love is patient and can be a building block for greater things, such as a family.

But what does it take to grow a family? (Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV)

It is accepting that the fruit of love is joy, peace, suffering long,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

All things that we must practice in a loving relationship.

Understand this, and you will create peace in your world.

But what does it take to keep a family? (I Peter 3:7 / 1 Timothy 4:6-7 TPT)

Discretion. It is taking in the wisdom to know when to speak in public,

And when to keep in private affairs important to the family.

It is standing like a Knight protecting our personal space.

It is becoming firm like a King harbouring understanding for his wife.

It is being vulnerable towards your King,

because with him you know your secrets are safe

and will never be used like a weapon against you.

Keeping a family requires an openness like no other.

Finally, accept the word of God as the standard for the family system,

Do not allow society’s redefinition to corrupt the family system created by God

Health Corner:

Rhesus factor compatibility

There are four major blood groups: A, B, AB, and O, with an additional subtype known as the Rh factor. An Rh factor is a protein found in certain red blood cells. Only some persons carry this protein, yet the majority do. The Rh system relies on the presence or absence of specific antigens on the surface of red blood cells.

The RhD antigen, or Rh factor, is the most significant antigen in the Rh system. Individuals who possess this antigen are Rh-positive (Rh+), whereas those who lack it are Rh-negative. According to a comprehensive study conducted in Nigeria, the prevalence of Rh-positive and Rh-negative blood types is around 94% and 6%, respectively.

Rh negative (A-, B-, AB-, or O-blood types) mothers who have anti-D antibodies (found on the antibody screen) must find out the Rh antigen status of the fetus; if the fetus is also Rh negative (A−, B−, AB−, or O− blood types), the pregnancy can be treated as any other pregnancy; anti-D antibodies are only harmful to Rh positive fetuses (A+, B+, AB+, or O+ blood types).

Rh incompatibility happens when the fetus’s red blood cells are destroyed by the mother’s immune system’s production of antibodies directed against the fetus’s Rh antigens. When a man who is Rh positive and a woman who is Rh negative conceives, the resulting child may have father-inherited Rh-positive blood. Pregnant women who are Rh-negative may be exposed to the Rh protein, which could lead to the formation of antibodies in several ways. Signs and symptoms in fetus include Anaemia, jaundice, enlarged spleen, liver or heart or buildup of fluid in the abdomen of the fetus.

Rh immunoglobulin (RhIg) injections are commonly administered to Rh-negative mothers during pregnancy and after delivery to prevent complications from Rh incompatibility. RhIg works by preventing the mother’s immune system from producing antibodies against the Rh antigen. The Rh blood group system is an essential part of human blood typing and transfusion reactions.

3 John 1:2: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (NKJV) This expresses a desire for both spiritual and physical well-being.

Conclusion:

Vision is foresight based on insight, with the benefit of hindsight.

The Harvest is ripe and ready to be reaped. However, we need to understand the essence of the harvest. The vision for the harvest is well spelt out across the Bible and we must walk therein.

“Habakkuk 2:1-3 NLT

[1] I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guard post. There I will wait to see what the Lord says and how he will answer my complaint. [2] Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. [3] This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed”.

How to walk in this Vision:

  1. Concentration: We need to always wear our cap of concentration in the place of Prayer.
  2. Concretization: Writing down the vision which helps to; clarify the vision, enables for reference in the future, allows impacting generations.
  3. Collaboration: Partnering with people of like minds helps to fast-track the vision. People are your greatest asset to turn vision into reality.
  4. Commitment: Vision does not become auto-reality without being committed to it. Vision requires uphill discipline. It takes an uphill habit to acquire our vision.
  5. Confidence: Having a strong belief in the achievement of the vision is also necessary.

Combining all these sets us on track to achieving the vision set before us.
