Pastor’s Corner
Welcome to year 2023!!! God’s word to us as a church is that it is a new dawn. One of the ingredients that powers the manifestation of the word of God in our lives is expectation. Someone said that expectation is the atmosphere of miracle. I am positive that as you eagerly stay in that mode, God will do the unprecedented in your life in Jesus name.
Our anchor scripture for the year is in Isaiah 43:19 which says; Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Let me exhort you with these three things as you anticipate the breakthroughs that God has designed and customised with your name on it for the year.
First, don’t let the past be in the way of what God wants to do in the year. This includes your errors, mistakes, failures or even successes. He has declared that he is doing a new thing. The past must be buried in the sea of forgetfulness and should not be allowed to affect the blessing that is ahead of you.
Secondly, develop the capacity to see what God is doing. Whatever you cannot behold, you cannot hold in your hands. As you let go of the past, let the Holy Spirit flood your inner eyes with the picture of the new things that God is doing in your life. Engage your imagination this year a lot more as you pray and meditate on the word of God. Remember, the Holy Spirit speaks in pictures.
Lastly, pay attention to strategies that God will give you in order for the manifestation in the natural what he is doing in the spirit. Like Joshua told the children of Israel that they have not travelled this way before, it means God gives new strategies when he’s doing the new. Divine strategies will always be superior to the natural human strategies. The palace is waiting for you as you incline yourself to receive strategies from God.
Wisdom will be profitable for direction for you this year in Jesus name.
IT IS A NEW DAWN!!!

New Year Resolution
It is now the time of the year when people start making plans and resolutions.
January
marks
the
beginning
of
the
calendar
year;
hence,
a
period
many
choose
to
reflect
on
the
previous
year
and
outline
plans
for
the
year
ahead.
However,
some
people
believe that New Year resolutions are pointless
because
way
before
the
year
ends,
those
dreams,
plans
and
resolution
that
they
wrote
at
the
beginning
of
the
year
become
long
forgotten.
Last year I came to the realisation that it’s not just about making plans, it’s about making actionable plans. You can achieve your new year goals if you have;
• An actionable and realistic plan: you can do this by dividing your goals into sections‑ financial, spiritual, asset accumulation, skin care…
• A partner you are accountable to
• Conduct Periodic checks i.e you have to check if your written down goals are in line with the goals you’ve achieved. It’s easy to get tempted or sidelined by other peoples’ achievements ‑ stay focussed!
It’s important to note that it is not about having a New Year resolution or goal, it’s the amount of work you put in that will bring the change you desire.
Biblical Poetry: A New Dawn
Wake me up when it is time
Time to celebrate a New Dawn
To start manifesting new dreams, renewed faith, restored boldness To embrace the words of God like never before
To understand that his words would lead me, and never leave me Because everything great starts with the word of God
And my God only does what he says.
Wake me up when it is time
Time to put down my armour of protection
To see that God is my protector shielding me from my enemies To accept that the spiritual defence takes its own form
To understand that God is turning things around for my good Because he is my personal protector removing my need to fight And with God there will be miracles in quick recession.
Wake me up when it is time
Time to step into the New Dawn
To walk with a confidence because I know he is leading my steps To recognise that he has breathed life into my vision
To understand that I have an active role to play in changing my life Because the greatness of God moves with me when I believe
And never will I undermine the impact God can have.
Wake me up when it is time
Time to move forward into the New Year
To say farewell to the love lost in the previous year To say thank you to the lessons learned
To say I understand I serve an almighty God
Because together we laid a foundation to now build on
And with your guidance I will heal, grow, succeed, and love again.

The Silent Thief of Sight
Glaucoma is the silent thief of sight. It usually develops slowly and without any symptoms, remaining undetected until the disease reaches an advanced stage. If left untreated, glaucoma can cause weakened vision and may even lead to blindness. Anyone can develop glaucoma, but it has higher possibilities among people with glaucoma family history, diabetes and people over 60. Studies have shown that 50% of people living with glaucoma are not aware that they have the disease, and about 1.1 to 1.4 million adults in Nigeria have been diagnosed with glaucoma.
Glaucoma can be considered as a natural aging process in the older population, with its occurrence as high as 1‑in‑8 at age 80+. However, it can also be a condition affecting the young with 1 in 10,000 babies being born with glaucoma. In children it can be easily noticed by: a dull or cloudy eye, increased blinking, tears without crying, unclear vision, and headache.
Although there is no cure for glaucoma, early detection and treatment can save sight. These include:
• Going for regular eye examinations
• Using prescription eye drops or oral medications
• Surgery
• Wearing eye protection e.g. sunglasses
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with glaucoma you might be feeling overwhelmed and concerned for the future. However, the quality of life can be improved by using vision aids, such as large‑print items and by ensuring there is a good care support system i.e. trained carers. To help ensure the condition is managed well. Always remember Psalm 146:8 (NKJV)
• The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;
• The LORD raises those who are bowed down;
• The LORD loves the righteous.

CLOSURE:
The word of God is a powerful tool that does great and mighty things. It is useful for us at all times. God never took his words for granted. He is compelled to do exactly what he said. Whenever He sent forth his words, everything begins to adjust to what God has said. Nothing is permitted to disobey His words.
- Moses parted the sea at the word of God.
- Joshua stopped the sun at the word of God.
- David overcame every war at the word of God.
- Daniel became known in Babylon at the word of God.
